About Us
Hi! I’m Anastasia, owner of Birch Side Aussies and mom to some incredible dogs. What I do here with the Aussies is my passion, and while I’d much rather talk about them and not me, I’ll share with you how this all started.
My childhood was filled with all different kinds of animals, from the horses I road to the goats I birthed, I loved them all and every crazy moment of it. Though, as time went on, it was the dogs who ultimately won my heart. The one in particular who changed everything was Pinto, my incredible Aussie Sire who gave me my passion for the breed. Aussies are so unique, personable, smart, beautiful; and at times their presence feels like they are more than just a dog. There’s no other breed I’d rather have.
My love for Aussie’s grew, and a few years later the opportunity opened for Willow, my first Dam, to join the family. Dealing with that breeder and others that followed never gave me all that I had hoped for. It all felt more transactional rather than the fantastic experience it could have been. So, one day I had this thought, that if I could help my Aussie’s bring a litter into this world I could give others that love this breed the homecoming experience I wish for everyone to have. With that idea in my head I ran with it, and now we’re here on our land in Gorham, Maine doing just that.
My goal throughout this whole process is connection, to make sure each puppy is connected with the right person, the right family. To have you come and see where these Aussie’s live, play, and thrive. To connect with the Dams of the litters and to know that these Aussie’s are in an environment that loves, respects, and holds enormous passion for them.
